DMP files 2,323 cases for traffic rules violation

DHAKA, June 24, (BSS) - The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 2,323 cases on the charges of violating traffic rules in different parts of the capital.

Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations Division) of DMP NM Nasiruddin said the DMP Traffic Division conducted drives against traffic breakers and filed the cases.

He said the DMP traffic police dumped 479 motor vehicles and towed 345 vehicles during the campaign against traffic rule violations on June 23.

During the drives, DMP filed 97 cases under Ramna zone, 166 cases under Lalbagh zone, 463 cases under Motijheel zone and 211 cases under Wari zone, 169 cases under Tejgaon zone, 512 cases under Mirpur zone, 462 cases under Uttara zone, and 242 cases under Gulshan zone.

The DMP's Traffic Division has vowed to continue drives to maintain discipline on Dhaka's roads.
