Over 3 lakh children to receive vitamin A plus capsules in Kurigram

KURIGRAM, June 25, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 3,33,316 children in the district will receive Vitamin A Plus capsules as part of the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign scheduled to be held across Bangladesh on June 28.

An orientation meeting and press conference for journalists was held on Wednesday afternoon at the conference room of the Kurigram Civil Surgeon's Office. 

The event was organized by the Institute of Public Health Nutrition and implemented by the District Civil Surgeon's Office.

According to information shared at the press conference, Vitamin A capsules will be distributed simultaneously at 2,070 centers throughout the district. Children aged 6 to 11 months will receive one blue-colored Vitamin A capsule, while children aged 12 to 59 months will receive one red-colored high-potency Vitamin A capsule.

The press conference was chaired by Civil Surgeon Dr. Swapan Kumar Biswas. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Nazir Hossain attended as the chief guest. Among others present were Additional Superintendent of Police Masud Rana, Deputy Director of the Family Planning Department Mozammel Haque, and Kurigram Press Club General Secretary Mahfuzar Rahman Khondkar.
