2 drug peddlers held with 60,000 Yaba in Teknaf

DHAKA, June 25, 2026 (BSS) - The Coast Guard has arrested two alleged drug traffickers with 60,000 yaba tablets from the Keruntali area of Teknaf in Cox's Bazar. 

The information was disclosed in a Coast Guard press release issued today.

According to the release, acting on a tip-off, Coast Guard Station Teknaf conducted a special operation around 3 pm today in the Keruntali area adjacent to Teknaf Police Station.

During the operation, two suspicious women were searched and 60,000 yaba tablets worth approximately Tk 3 crore were recovered.

The two peddlers were arrested on the spot.

The release further said that legal proceedings against the arrestees and the seized yaba tablets are underway.

The Coast Guard will continue such operations in the future to prevent the alarming spread of narcotics, it added.
