2.53 lakh children to get Vitamin 'A' capsules in Feni

FENI, June 25, 2026 (BSS) - Authorities have planned to administer Vitamin 'A' capsules to a total of 253,485 children in the district under the National Vitamin 'A' Plus Campaign scheduled for June 28. 

The campaign will be conducted at 1,138 centers across the district from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Acting Civil Surgeon Dr A S M Sohrab Al Hossain disclosed this information at a press conference at the District Civil Surgeon's office today.

He mentioned that 30,473 infants aged 6 to 11 months will be given blue-colored Vitamin 'A' capsules, while 223,012 children aged 12 to 59 months will receive red-colored capsules. The campaign will be conducted through 1,124 temporary, 7 permanent, and 7 mobile centers across the district.

Speaking to BSS, Dr Sohrab Al Hossain emphasized, "The campaign will be considered successful if we can reach every child in Feni."

He further added, "Vitamin 'A' not only prevents night blindness but also boosts a child's immune system." 

He urged parents and guardians to bring their children to the nearest centers for the dose.

Medical Officer of the Civil Surgeon's office Dr Imam Hossain moderated the press conference, which was also attended by Medical Officers Dr Fahad and Dr Amir Khasru Tareq, among others.
