Colorful rally held in capital marking anti-drug day

DHAKA, June 26, 2026 (BSS) - A colorful rally featuring various anti-drug slogans was held in the capital today to raise awareness against drug abuse and protect the youth and future generations.

The rally was brought out from the Matsya Bhaban intersection in Ramna this morning and concluded in front of the Secretariat here.

Officials and personnel from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Department of Narcotics Control, Bangladesh Police, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), representatives of various anti-drug and social organisations and students from different educational institutions took part in the rally.

Later, the participants of the rally also formed a human chain on the opposite side of the Secretariat.

Marking the occasion of the Anti-Drug Day, stalls of different treatment and rehabilitation centres were also set up at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium premises alongside the rally, human chain and discussion programme.

Later, a discussion was held at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital marking the "International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking-2026".
