94 held in special drive across capital

DHAKA, June 30, 2026 (BSS) – The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 94 people allegedly involved in various criminal activities during a special drive conducted across different areas of the capital.

According to a DMP press release, issued today, the day-long drive was carried out on Monday as part of the force's ongoing efforts to maintain public safety and law and order.

Among the arrestees, three were alleged extortionists. The detainees also included 44 people allegedly involved in terrorism, robbery, mugging and dacoity-related offences, while 47 others were arrested on charges of drug trafficking.

The DMP said such special drives would continue to ensure public safety and maintain normal law and order across the capital.

Legal action against the arrestees is underway.
