Govt forms 15-member Ad-hoc Bar Council for one-year term

DHAKA, June 30, 2026 (BSS) – The government, by virtue of the powers conferred by clause (2) of Article 8 of the Bangladesh Legal Practitioners and Bar Council Order, 1972 (President's Order No. 46 of 1972), has constituted a 15-member Ad-hoc Bar Council, headed by the Attorney General.

The tenure of the Ad-hoc Bar Council will be from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027, according to a gazette notification issued by the Law and Justice Division and signed by its Secretary Liaquet Ali Molla.
 
The other members of the council are - Zainul Abedin, Badruddoza Badal, Masud Ahmed Talukder, Jasim Uddin Sarkar, AHM Mushfiqur Rahman Tuhin, Ragib Rauf Chowdhury, Nasir Uddin Ashim, Sarkar Tahmina Begum Sandha, Mohammad Hossain Lipu, Mohammed Shishir Manir, Md Nazim Uddin Chowdhury, Ali Asgar, Syed Nazrul Islam and Mahfuzur Rahman Milon.
