370 held in 24-hour operation across Dhaka

DHAKA, July 13, 2026 (BSS) - Police have arrested 370 people in a 24-hour operation targeting crime and narcotics across Dhaka.

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a statement today said 40 cases were filed during the operation, which involved all divisional units and the Detective Branch.

Among those arrested, 91 were detained by the Mirpur Division, 59 by Wari Division, 54 by Motijheel Division, 43 by Tejgaon Division, 34 by Ramna Division, 32 by Uttara Division, 31 by Gulshan Division, 18 by Lalbagh Division and eight by the Detective Branch.

Police said they seized 16,283 yaba tablets, 1.32 kg of cannabis, counterfeit currency, 22 mobile phones, 59 SIM cards and a private car during the raids. 

Two victims were also rescued.

The DMP said the arrests were made during operations carried out in different police station areas across the capital. 

Legal proceedings against the arrestees are under way.
