DHAKA, July 15, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 436 people and filed 58 cases during operations carried out across the capital over the past 24 hours, according to a police statement issued today.

The arrests included 26 suspects from Ramna Division, 31 from Lalbagh, 63 from Wari, 41 from Motijheel, 52 from Tejgaon, 99 from Mirpur, 55 from Gulshan, 56 from Uttara, five by the Detective Branch (DB), and eight by the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit.

Police said they seized 11,127 pieces of contraband, 55.43kg of cannabis, 3.4 grams of heroin, 550 bottles of Eskaf cough syrup, 20 litres of locally made alcohol, 22 mobile phones, a microbus, a private car, 24 SIM cards, a sound system, cutting tools, a measuring device and Tk 17,800 in cash during the operations.

The raids were conducted in different police station areas across the capital as part of DMP's routine anti-crime operations.

Police said legal proceedings against those arrested are underway.
