Six more die with suspected measles across country

DHAKA, July 22, 2026, (BSS) - Six more people have died with suspected measles across the country in the past 24 hours, according to a press release issued today by the Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The press release said the number of suspected measles cases recorded during the past 24 hours stood at 904, while the total number of suspected cases reached 120,352 between March 15 and July 22.

During the past 24 hours, 133 measles cases were confirmed, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 14,841 over the same period.

Since March 15, a total of 103,078 suspected measles patients have been admitted to hospitals. During the same period, 99,294 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.

Six people died with suspected measles in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of deaths of children with suspected measles to 708 since March 15.

No deaths from confirmed measles were reported during the past 24 hours. Between March 15 and July 22, a total of 95 deaths from confirmed measles have been recorded.
