HABIGANJ, April 24, 2025(BSS) - The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) today seized a truck carrying Indian goods worth approximately Tk 1.5 crore from the Jagodishpur area along the Habiganj-Sylhet highway.

Lieutenant Colonel Md Tanjilur Rahman informed BSS that the operation was conducted based on a tip-off.

Upon searching the vehicle, BGB personnel recovered a significant quantity of Indian-made cosmetics, razors and eyeglasses which had been concealed under a layer of sand.

"The smugglers attempted to hide the contraband beneath sand to avoid detection," he said

He emphasized BGB's ongoing commitment to safeguarding the country's borders, stating, "Alongside ensuring the safety and security of our borders, we are also working relentlessly to keep society free from drugs and smuggling."
