Bangladesh face Oman in semifinal tomorrow

DHAKA, April 24, 2025 (BSS)-Bangladesh national men's hockey team face Oman in the semifinal of AHF Cup Hockey scheduled to be held at GBK Hockey Field in Jakarta, Indonesia tomorrow (Friday).

The match kicks off at 6 pm Bangladesh time.

Pool A champions Chinese Taipei face Pool B runners-up Kazakhstan in the other semi-final on the same day.

Earlier, Bangladesh finished the Pool B campaign with all win records in the tournament.

Bangladesh got off to flying start in the tournament beating Kyrgyzstan by 5-1 goals in their opening match and defeated host Indonesia by 3-2 goals in their second match.

Bangladesh eventually emerged as group champions beating Thailand by 2-1 goals in their third match to maintain their domination in the tournament.

The boys in red and green finished the group tourney thrashing Sri Lanka by 5-0 goals. 

Bangladesh won the AHF Cup title in the last four editions in 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2022, also looking forward to retain the tournament title this time as well.

The final of the tournament will be held on Sunday (April 27). The AHF Cup tournament will serve as the qualification tournament for the next edition Asia Cup.
