Brothers beat Partex to avoid relegation

DHAKA, April 24, 2025 (BSS)-Brothers Union avoided a demotion to first 
division cricket league after beating Partex Sporting Club by 113 runs in the 
last game of the relegation league of Dhaka Premier League (DPL) today at 
Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Partex, along with Shinepukur Cricket Club, finally were relegated to first 
division cricket league from the DPL.

Brothers earlier beat Shinepukur also in the relegation league.

Thanks to opener Mahfijul Islam's 97 ball-98, a knock that studded with 10 
fours and five sixes, Brothers piled up 294-9 in 50 overs. Mahfijul's fellow 
opener and captain Myshukur Rahman scored 50 to contribute in team's victory 
also.

Aich Mollah made 48 while Mizanur Rahman chipped-in-with 42 for Brothers. 

In reply Partex were bowled out for 181 in 37.1 overs with only three batters 
reaching double digits. The bulk of the runs came from the willow of opener 
Adil Bin Siddik who blasted 85 off 74 with nine fours and two sixes. 

Ahrar Amin with 33 and Mohammad Rakib with 17 were the other two batters to 
avoid single digit figure.

Rakibul Atik and veteran Alok Kapali claimed three wickets apiece for 
Brothers.
