Bangladesh earn a spirited 2-2 draw against Jordan

DHAKA, June 4, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh national women's football team played out a 2-2 draw with hosts Jordan in their second and final match of the FIFA Tier-1 International Friendly Series held at the King Abdullah II Stadium in Amman, Jordan, on Tuesday night.

In the match, Shamsunnahar Junior and Shaheda Akter Ripa scored one goal each for Bangladesh after the first half ended in a 1-1 draw.

Jordan took an early lead by scoring in the 5th minute. However, Shamsunnahar Junior restored parity for Bangladesh in the 43rd minute.

After the break, Jordan regained the lead in the 58th minute, but Shaheda Akter Ripa equalized in the 82nd minute to deny the hosts a win.

Earlier, the girls in red and green delivered an impressive performance by securing a creditable goalless draw against higher-ranked Indonesia in their opening match held on Saturday.

Bangladesh participated in this tri-nation series as part of their preparations for the upcoming AFC Women's Asian Cup Qualifiers, where they will face Myanmar, Bahrain, and Turkmenistan.
