Sajid finishes 6th in Dubai Open Chess

DHAKA, June 4, 2025 (BSS)- FIDE Master Sakline Mostafa Sajid has finished 
sixth place in category 'B' of the 25th Dubai Open Chess Tournament that 
concluded in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Tuesday last.
 
Sajid secured sixth place by getting 5.5 points from nine games and received 
cash prize money of U$ 1,000, said a press release today.

FIDE Master Syed Mahfuzur Rahman finished 15th place with six points while 
Woman FIDE Master Noshin Anjum finished 39th with five points.
 
The ninth or final round games of category 'B', Sajid defeated Hamad Essam of 
the UAE and Syed Mahfuzur Rahman beat Vishal Choudhury of India.
 
Woman FIDE Master Noshin Anjum split points with Hari Vardan Satheeshkumar of 
India. 

In the last round, International Master Manon Reja Neer and FIDE Master 
Tahsin Tajwar Zia did not participate in category 'A' and Woman International 
Master Wadifa Ahmed and Woman Candidate Master Walijah Ahmed did not 
participate in Category 'B'.
 
In the 'A' category, Grandmaster Grebnev Aleksey of Russia emerged champion 
and Grandmaster Pichot Alan of Spain finished runner-up. 

While in the 'B' category, Nikookar Mahdi of Iran emerged champion with 7.5
