Men's hockey team blank Hong Kong China 3-0

DHAKA, July 3, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh men's hockey team made a winning start in the U-18 Asia Cup Hockey, beating Hong Kong China 3-0 in their opening Pool A match held in the Chinese city of Dazhou today (Thursday).

After a barren first quarter, Bangladesh took the lead through a field goal by Din Islam in the 20th minute. He doubled the lead in the 26th minute by converting a penalty corner.

Amit Hasan completed the tally, scoring the third goal for Bangladesh in the 43rd minute, also from a penalty corner.

Bangladesh, placed in Pool A alongside Pakistan, China, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong China in the 11-team men's Asia Cup, will face Sri Lanka in their next match on Saturday (July 5).

Meanwhile, in the eight-team Women's Asia Cup, Bangladesh, drawn in Pool A with strong opponents Japan, Uzbekistan, and Hong Kong China, will begin their campaign against Japan tomorrow (Friday).
