44th edition of National Cycling Competition begins in Ctg tomorrow

CHATTOGRAM, July 3, 2025 (BSS)- The 44th edition of the National Cycling 
Competition will begin tomorrow (Friday) at Chattogram Zilla Stadium. 

A total of 250 cyclists from 19 districts and 24 teams are participating in 
this edition. 

The competition will take place from July 4 to 6 at Chattogram Zilla Stadium 
and Patenga Tunnel Road. The competition will kick off tomorrow morning, 

Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanam will inaugurate this edition at MA Aziz 
Stadium in the afternoon. 

On Thursday, Bangladesh Cycling Federation General Secretary Abu Hena Mostafa 
Kamal Tuku held a press conference at the conference room of Zilla Stadium 
and highlighted various aspects of the competition. 

Teams from Chattogram, Nilphamari, Khulna, Panchagarh, Dinajpur, Natore, 
Narail, Chandpur, Bandarban, Thakurgaon, Rangpur, Gopalganj, Joypurhat, 
Jamalpur, Khagrachhari, Lalmonirhat, Pabna, Satkhira and Sylhet districts 
will participate in the competition, he added.

In addition, last year's champion Bangladesh Ansar and VDP, Bangladesh Army, 
Border Guard Bangladesh, Bangladesh Jail Police and Bangladesh Railway will 
participate in the event as service teams. 

A total of 175 male cyclists will participate in nine events in the men's 
division while 75 female cyclists will participate in nine events in the 
women's division. 

Two 16-year old cyclists will also participate in this year's event. 
 
National Sports Council (NSC), Chattogram Deputy Director Shihab Uddin, 
District Sports Officer Abdul Bari, Bangladesh Cycling Federation Executive 
Member Abdur Razzak and CJKS Councilor Ali Hasan Raju were present at the 
press conference.
