Women's hockey team make losing start

DHAKA, July 4, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh women's hockey team made losing start in the U-18 Asia Cup Hockey when they suffered a massive 11-0 defeat to strong Japan in their opening pool A match held in the Chinese city of Dazhou today (Friday).

Japan took the lead in the first quarter and added two more goals in the second quarter. The third quarter ended 4-0 and Japan maintained their domination scoring seven more more goals in the last quarter.
Bangladesh women's hockey team will play their second group match against Uzbekistan tomorrow (Saturday).

Meanwhile, the men's hockey team will also play their second pool A match against Sri Lanka on the same day. 

Earlier, men's hockey team blanked Hong Kong China by 3-0 goals in their opening pool A match held on Thursday last.
