Rishad returns to practice session for 2nd ODI

DHAKA, July 4, 2025 (BSS)- Leg-spinner Rishad Hossain returned to Bangladesh practice session for the crucial second ODI against Sri Lanka, set to take place tomorrow (Saturday) at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Rishad who was the key in Bangladesh 2-1 series victory over the same opponents at home back in March 2024, missed the first ODI due to his fever.

The lanky leg-spinner who also has the reputation of a big-hitter was seen in training intensively in a practice video, sent by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) today.
He is highly likely to make his way to the playing XI as Bangladesh may tinker with the squad that lost the first game by 77 runs, after experiencing a sensational collapse that saw them seven-wicket lost for five runs in 26 balls.

Meanwhile, Liton Das was not seen in the practice session today. Liton has been enduring a bad patch as he scored just 13 runs in the last eight ODI matches including four ducks. He even couldn’t reach the double digits in any of those eight matches. In the last match too, he was out for a duck.
