Wadifa to take part FIDE Women's World Cup

DHAKA, July 5, 2025 (BSS)- International woman master Wadifa Ahmed of Bangladesh will take part in the FIDE Women's World Cup 2025 which begins in Batumi, Georgia tomorrow.

Wadifa qualified for the event by winning the Asian Zonal 3.2 women's group chess championship held in Sri Lanka in last March.
 
A total of 107 players are participating in the knockout system. 

Wadifa will play two games in the first round against French international master and women's grand master Daoulyte-Cornetti Deimante. 

She needs to win one match and draw one to advance to the second round.
