Friendly football match held in Khulna to mark July Mass Uprising Day

KHULNA, Aug 9, 2025 (BSS) - A friendly football match was held this afternoon at the Khulna district stadium to commemorate the July Mass Uprising Day. The match featured teams KCC XI and July Warriors XI, and ended in an exciting 1-1 draw.

The event was jointly organized by the Khulna City Corporation (KCC), Khulna District Administration, Divisional Administration and District Sports Association.

KCC Administrator Md. Firoz Sarkar attended the match as the chief guest. He formally inaugurated the event by releasing balloons and festoons, and later distributed prizes among the players.

The match, marked by high energy and sportsmanship, ended with both sides scoring one goal each, much to the delight of spectators.

Khulna Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Saiful Islam, City BNP President S.M. Shafiqul Alam Mona, Additional Deputy Commissioner Nurul Hai Mohammad Anas, KCC Acting Chief Executive Officer Sharif Asif Rahman, Chief Engineer Moshiuzzaman Khan, Chief Health Officer Dr. Sharif Shammiul Islam, Administrative Officer Molla Maruf Rashid and Convenor of the friendly football match organizing committee and Chief Tax Assessor Sheikh Hafizur, among others, were present.
