DHAKA, Aug 12, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh U-20 women's football team returned home Tuesday at 1.30 am after completing their AFC Women's U-20 Asian Cup qualifying campaign in Laos.

Bangladesh secured their first-ever spot in the AFC Women's U-20 Asian Cup by winning two of their three matches. They qualified as one of the three best runners-up across eight groups involving 32 teams, joining hosts Thailand in the 12-team final tournament to be held next year.

Bangladesh started their Group H campaign with convincing wins over hosts Laos (3-1) and Timor-Leste (8-0), but suffered a 6-1 defeat to two-time champions and group winners South Korea in their final match.

Earlier, Bangladesh's senior women's football team booked their place at the 2026 Asian Cup in Australia.
