DHAKA, Aug 12, 2025 (BSS)- Chief of Naval Staff and Bangladesh Swimming Federation (BSF) president Admiral Mohammad Nazmul Hassan today (Tuesday) inspected the training activities of talented swimmers initially selected from 64 districts across the country, said a press release.

During his visit to the National Swimming Complex at Mirpur, he closely observed the swimmers and spoke to the trainers and gave various instructions to improve the quality of training.

In the first phase, 630 swimmers were selected from 15 venues across the country through the special initiative titled 'Bangladesh in Search of the Best Swimmers-2025' is aimed at developing the country's future swimmers. The second phase of training for these swimmers began on July 15 last, and will continue until November 5.

This training has been divided into six groups, with 110 swimmers practicing in each group.

During the visit, the Navy Chief said, "Through this training program, we are paving the way for the production of world-class swimmers who will proudly carry the name of the country and represent Bangladesh around the world."
He also expressed hope that these swimmers will bring honor to the country in various international competitions, including the Olympics, in the future.

The Navy chief said such programs will add a new dimension to the country's sports competitions, increase the interest of young athletes in swimming and overall enrich the country's sports standards.

He firmly believes that this initiative will make the name of the Bangladesh swimming team shine on the international sports map.

BSF general secretary Md Mahbubur Rahman Shaheen, its joint secretary Nibedita Das, treasurer Major (retd.) Md Atiqur Rahman and other officials of the federation were present at the time.

Those concerned believe that this initiative is opening a new horizon in the country's swimming arena.
