Bangladesh A win warm-up game in Darwin

DHAKA, Aug 12, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh A made a good start to the Australia tour, beating DIXI by 37 runs in a practice game in Darwin.

The visiting Bangladesh side posted a healthy 181-5 after opting to bat first. 

Afif Hossain anchored the innings with 33 ball-43 after opener Naim Sheikh provided the early impetus with 36 of 29.

After Afif's retirement, skipper Nurul Hasan Sohan (13*), Yasir Chowdhury (30*), and Mrittunjay Chowdhury (18*) kept the scoreboard flowing, taking Bangladesh to a challenging total. 

The local made a strong start while chasing but couldn't keep up the momentum and eventually finished on 144-5 in 20-over allocation. 

Yaseen Muntasir made team-high 26 off 12, while Jagadeswara Koduru added 25.

Mahfuzur Rahman Rabby ripped through the local side innings with 2-38. Rakibul Hasan returned figures of 2-5 while Saif Hasan picked up the remaining wicket.

Bangladesh A who will play the Top End T20 series for the second time here, will kick off the mission by taking on Pakistan Shaheens on August 14. 

Nepal national team and four other teams from Australia Big Bash League will also take part in the tournament.
