Sakline emerges champion

DHAKA, Aug 12, 2025 (BSS)- FIDE Master Sakline Mostafa Sajid of Titas Club emerged champion, with one match in hand, in the July Mass Uprising International Rating Chess competition held at Youth Tower in the capital’s Shewrapara today (Tuesday).

FIDE Master Sakline Mostafa Sajid clinched the title with maximum six points after 6th round.

Five players shared the second position with 4.5 points. They are - FIDE Master Subrota Biswas of Sports Bangla, FIDE Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia of Titas Club, FIDE Master Md. Sharif Hossain and Women's FIDE Master Warsia Khushbu of Bangladesh Navy and Anata Choudhury of Sadharan Bima Corporation Sporting Club.

Four players shared the third position with four points. They are International Master Md. Minhaz Uddin of Bangladesh Navy, FIDE Master Mehdi Hasan Parag, Avik Sarker and Rayan Rashid Mugdho of Leonine Chess Club. 

In the day’s sixth or penultimate round, FIDE Master Sakline Mostafa Sajid beat FIDE Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia, FIDE Master Md. Sharif Hossain split point with FIDE Master Subrota Biswas, Anata Choudhury outplayed FIDE Master Sheikh Nasir Ahmed, woman FIDE Master Warsia Khusbu defeated Tashriq Saihan Shan, International Master Md. Minhaj Uddin beat Sheikh Rashedul Hasan, Candidate Master Sohel Chowdhury split point with FIDE Master Khandaker Aminul Islam, FIDE Master Mehdi Hasan Parag defeated Candidate Master Md. Jamal Uddin, Candidate Master Avik Sarker outclassed FIDE Master Mohammad Javed, Rayan Rashid Mugdho beat Delwar Hossain, Sarwar Hossain Ullas overpowered Woman International Master Wadifa Ahmed, Candidate Master Md. Sajidul Haque defeated Kazi Saiyf, Md. Manjor Alam beat Muhtady Tajwar Nasheed, Ahnaf Zarif Haque split point with Mohammad Shakil, woman Candidate Master Nusrat Jahan Alo defeated Tanvir Alam, Abrar Reazul Ahnaf Mohammad split point with Md. Nasir Uddin, Candidate Master Mahtab Uddin 
Ahmed defeated Awsaf Chowdhury and Azaan Mahmud got a walk-over against Siam Chowdhury.
