DHAKA, Aug 13, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB) specialized batting coach Julian Wood started his work with the Bangladesh Women's team to help them hone the art of power-hitting.

He is currently working with 20 women cricketers who are in the camp to improve their skills in power-hitting. The new coach is basically teaching the cricketers how to generate power, specially in T20 cricket.

He will work with the women cricketers two or three days more before beginning his work with the male cricketers.

Bangladesh are believed to lag behind other countries in T20 cricket. The shortcoming of both male and female cricketers is evident, specially in playing big shots.

In T20 cricket power-hitting is particularly quite important. The BCB has set out to improve power-hitting skills to do well in international T20s and other domestic competitions.

Although several young cricketers of the Bangladesh national team have adapted to T20 individually, the Tigers are still lagging behind as a team, which is why Wood, one of the renowned coaches of power-hitting, was appointed.

Meanwhile, Wood also conducted a workshop on power hitting with senior coaches of the BCB in attendance yesterday.
