Bangladesh face Hong Kong China in crucial match tomorrow

DHAKA, Oct 8, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh looking forward to register their first win as the face Hong Kong China in their crucial group C match of the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers scheduled to be held at National Stadium under the flood light tomorrow.

The match kicks off at 8 pm.  

The match against Hong Kong is a do-or-die match for Bangladesh. A defeat to Hong Kong will all but end Bangladesh's hopes of final round of qualification.

The Javier Cabrera's side, currently stands third position in the table with one points from two matches, above India in group C by virtue of goal difference, began the Asian Cup Qualification campaign with goalless draw against India in their opening group match and suffered 2-1 defeat to Singapore in their second match.

The Bangladesh side, which began their preparation on September 28 last under the supervision of head coach Cabrera, must be boosted in presence of Leicester City midfielder Hamza Choudhury and Canada-based midfielder Shamit Shome before the important game. 

The two teams met four times in the past with Hong Kong remained undefeated all occasions winning two matches against Bangladesh since the two sides met for the first time in 2006. 

On the other hand, Hong Kong currently sit joint top of their group alongside Singapore with four points each, and are looking forward to secure back-to-back qualifications for the Asian Cup. 

A victory against Bangladesh, will certainty increase their chance to qualify for the next round. 

Hong Kong are ranked 146th in the world, whereas Bangladesh are in 184th position, according to the latest FIFA World Ranking.
