DHAKA, Oct 9, 2025 (BSS)- The ‘Olympic Solidarity Technical Course for Coaches in Fencing' was formally inaugurated at Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) media center in the capital today (Thursday), said a press release.

Bangladesh Fencing Federation chief adviser Lt. Gen (retd) ATM  Zahirul Alam formally opened the nine-day-course as the chief guest.

The course is being held under the Olympic Solidarity's 2025-2028 four-year plan, funded by Olympic Solidarity, supervised by BOA and organized by the Bangladesh Fencing Federation.

A total of 25 coaches from Dhaka and outside the capital are taking part in this course. The aim of the course is to enhance the skills of fencing coaches in Bangladesh, enhance their ability to provide training at the int’l level, and improve the quality of fencing in Bangladesh.

Dr. Gennadi Tychler, an internationally renowned fencing instructor from South Africa, is the instructor for this course. He serves as the president of the coaching council of the International Fencing Federation (FIE).
