DHAKA, Oct 10, 2025 (BSS)- New Zealand Women's team captain Sophie Devine won the toss and sent Bangladesh to bat first in their third game of the ICC Cricket World Cup at Guwahati Stadium in India today.
The Tigresses made a good start to the World Cup, beating Pakistan by seven wickets. They might have won the second game against England too if they would get some support of luck.
However, eventually they lost the game by four wickets but were able to make a massive statement that they wouldn't be an easy prey.
Bangladesh brought up two changes from the previous game with Sumaiya Akter and Nishita Akter Nishi making room in the team.
"We wanted to bowl first, our bowlers have been doing well in the first two games so we wanted to give them a freebie," Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana Joty said, stating that they also wanted to bowl first.
"It's a very good opportunity for us, we want to play our A game here."
