DHAKA, Oct 10, 2025 (BSS)—Bangladesh Women’s team conceded a crushing 100-run defeat to New Zealand in their third game of the ICC Cricket World Cup at Guwahati Stadium in India today.

New Zealand Women’s team put on 227-9, leaving Bangladesh an uphill task to chase.

In reply, the Tigresses came up with a dismal batting show to be all out for just 127 in 39.5 overs.

Only three Bangladeshi batters could reach double digits with Fahima Khatun making highest 34. Rabeya Khan made 25 and Nahida Akter added 17.

Jess Kerr and Lea Thuhu wrecked havoc on Bangladesh batting line up, claiming three wickets each. They were complemented by Rosemary Mair’s two-wicket haul.

New Zealand, which opted to bat first, rode on fifties from skipper Sophie Devine and Brooke Halliday.

They combined for a 112-run for the fourth wicket stand to lay a solid platform after Bangladesh bowlers bowled in disciplined manner to leave them at precarious 38-3.

Halliday top-scored for the side with 69 while Devine added 63.

Rabeya Khan was the most successful bowler for Bangladesh with 3-30.

Rabeya gave Bangladesh a start to cherish, dismissing Gerogia Plimmer and Amelia Kerr in three balls.

Bangladesh then found them in over the moon when Suzie Bates, one of the best openers in the world, was removed for 29 by being run out.

However, Devine and Halliday helped the side recover from the collapse. Nishita Akter Nishi broke the dangerous partnership by taking out Devine before Fahima Khatun got rid of Halliday.

After their dismissals, New Zealand lost their last five wickets for 48 runs.
