Army, Ansar emerge champions

DHAKA, Nov 3, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh Army and Bangladesh Ansar emerged champions in men's and women's team events of the Federation Cup Table Tennis competition held at Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium in the city today (Monday). 

The Army beat their arch-rival Bangladesh Ansar by a straight 3-0 set, but the women of the Army lost to Ansar by 2-3 sets.

This rivalry between Ansar and the Army in the team sport of table tennis has been going on for almost a decade. Bangladesh Ansar has been competing regularly in the national table tennis championships since 1985 and Bangladesh Army in 2014. 

It can be mentioned that the last Federation Cup tennis competition was held in 2021.
