Three-member election commission formed for BOA election

DHAKA, Nov 3, 2025 (BSS)- The Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) in its executive committee's meeting has decided to form a three-member election commission to conduct its upcoming election.

The meeting, presided over by BOA vice-president Anjan Chowdhury, was held at Kurmitola Golf Club in Dhaka Cantonment today (Monday).

In the meeting, Brigadier General (Retd) Salehin Monowar, the former Director General (DG) of the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP), was nominated as the Chief Election Commissioner of the three-member election commission.

The following two election commissioners were nominated a representative of the rank of Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Tahmina 
Rahman, member of the executive committee of the Bangladesh Archery 
Federation.

On the occasion of the election of the BOA Executive Committee, the list of councilors from various federations, associations or organizations was also confirmed.

The meeting also decided to give financial rewards and a reception at a convenient time for both the men's and women's Kabaddi teams, which recently won bronze medals for the first time at the third Asian Youth Games held in 
Bahrain.

In the meeting, it was further decided that the upcoming executive committee elections will be held as per the existing constitution of the BOA.

The BOA Executive Committee elections will be held in Cox's Bazar on November 30 along with the Annual General Meeting in the presence of the BOA president.
