DHAKA, Nov 18, 2025 (BSS) - Fast bowler Mukidul Islam Mugdho claimed a five-
wicket haul as Rangpur Division secured its first victory in the ongoing 27th
National Cricket League (NCL), thrashing Barishal by eight wickets in a low-
scoring game at Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogura today.

Put into bat first, Barishal were bowled out for just 196 despite a fighting
80 from Fazle Mahmud. Robiul Haque was the wrecker-in-chief with 5-25 while
Mugdho complemented him with 3-46.

Rangpur, however, earned a slim six runs lead when they put up 202 in the
first inning before being all out.

With the second innings still at hands, there was a chance for Barishal to
make a comeback. But Mugdho's fiery bowling shattered their hopes to claw
back into the contest.

Mugdho finished the second innings with 5-53 to wrap up Barishal for just
141, giving his side 135-run to chase for a victory.

Rangpur made no mistakes as they reached 139-2 on Day 4, the final day of the
game to clinch the victory.

Opener Mim Mohammad scored highest 80 off 93 with a dozen of boundaries while
Nobin Islam was not out on 42.

Like Rangpur, Mymensingh also secured their first victory in the fourth round
after beating Chattogram by 251 runs. Asadullah Hill Galib snapped up 6-21 to
hand the side a crushing victory.

The match between Rajshahi and Dhaka, however, ended in a draw.
