DHAKA, Nov 21, 2025 (BSS)- As many as three Bangladesh players have entered the auction for the upcoming Women's Premier League (WPL), popularly known as the Women's IPL, scheduled to be held on November 27 in Delhi.
Pacer Marufa Akter, all-rounder Shorna Akter and spinner Rabeya Khan have been included in the shortlist following their impressive performances in the last Women's One-Day World Cup.
The base price for all three Bangladeshi cricketers has been set at INR 30 lakh (approximately BDT 41.33 lakh).
The upcoming edition of the WPL could mark their maiden appearance in the franchise league, should any team show interest in acquiring them.
Marufa grabbed the spotlight in the World Cup with her skilful swing bowling - a performance praised even by Sri Lankan fast-bowling great Lasith Malinga. She finished the tournament with six wickets in six matches.
Bangladesh remained competitive throughout the event largely due to the contributions of their spinners.
Shorna, the spin all-rounder, scored 116 runs in seven matches and claimed six wickets, showcasing her power-hitting abilities with a 34-ball half-century.
Rabeya contributed 87 runs and picked up seven wickets, further strengthening Bangladesh's spin attack.
