KHULNA, Nov 21, 2025 (BSS) - BNP central executive committee member and party-nominated candidate for Khulna-4 Azizul Bari Helal warned that Bangladesh risks becoming a 'client state' if an inexperienced party will be entrusted with governing the country.

He made the remarks while taking part in a series of day-long programmes in Rupsa upazila on Thursday.

At a views-exchange meeting with students and teachers at Al-Aqsa Madrasa, Helal launched a tree-planting drive under the slogan "One Household, One Tree - Commitment to Greening."

He later spoke at another student gathering at Shamsur Rahman Secondary School and joined a similar tree-planting event.

Addressing an election rally and views-exchange meeting organised by the BNP Women's Wing in Jabusar, Helal urged party activists to convey his greetings to local residents.

"I may not be able to reach every household, so it is the responsibility of all leaders and activists to take my greetings to the people," he said.

Helal alleged that voters had been denied the opportunity to choose their preferred candidates for the past 17 years, adding that a "certain party" had been rejected by the public over terrorism and had fled the country.

"BNP has governed Bangladesh four times. We have experience in running the state," he said.

If elected to form the next government, he pledged the creation of one million jobs for unemployed youth, introduction of Family Cards for mothers, and Farmer Cards for women engaged in agriculture.

District BNP convener Moniruzzaman Montu, joint conveners Khan Zulfiqar Ali Zulu, Molla Khairul Islam, Sheikh Abdur Rashid, Anisul Rahman, Molla Riazul Islam, Kamran Hasan, Rupsa upazila BNP leader Molla Saifur Rahman Saif, Bikash Mitra, district Swechasebak Dal convener Ataur Rahman Ranu, Abu Sayeed and several other local leaders and activists were present.
