Dhanmondi, Police win in DFDCL opener

DHAKA, Dec 14, 2025 (BSS) -The Dhaka First Division Cricket League (DFDCL) 
kicked off today with Dhanmondi Sports Club and Bangladesh Police Cricket 
Club registering victory in their opening game.

A total of five matches were scheduled to be held today. Baridhara Dazzlers 
got a walkover after their opponents Partext Sporting Club didn't turn up in 
the match at PKSP-2 ground. 

Dhaka United Sporting Club also got a walkover when their opponent Gazi Tyres 
Cricket Academy refused to turn up at BKSP-3 ground.

Meanwhile the match between Kalabagan Krira Chakra and Amber Sporting Club 
was abandoned after both teams refused to show-up.

At Silicon City Ground Dhanmondi beat Lamatia club by 57 runs.

Put into bat first, Dhanmondi Sports Club racked up 225-6, riding on 69 runs 
from opener Imran Hossain. Tanvir Hossain was the other notable scorer with 
44.

Mohiul Islam Patwari claimed 3-38 to help Dhanmondi bowl Lalamatia Club out 
for 168 in 47.5 overs.

Bangladesh Police Cricket Club sprung a surprise by securing eight-wicket win 
over Old DOHS at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Club.

Asked to bat first, DOHS were wrapped up for a meager 114 in 37 overs after 
Asadullah Hill Galib ripping through their batting line up with 4-38.

Thanks to opener Mim Mohammad's 56 not out, Bangladesh Police then overhauled 
the target in 21.3 overs, reaching 115-2 for an eight-wikcet victory.
