Hardinge, Hamida Afaz emerge champion in School Kabaddi

DHAKA, Dec 23, 2025 (BSS) - Dhamrai Hardinge Government High School in boys' 
section and Hamida Afaz School in girls' section emerged champions in the 
Victory Day School Kabaddi competition that concluded at National Kabaddi 
Stadium in the capital today (Tuesday). 

In the boys' section final match, Dhamrai Hardinge Government High School 
beat Civil Aviation School and College by 65-41 points after leading the 
first half by 30-20 points while in the girls' section final Hamida Afaz 
School defeated Mirpur Girls Ideal School by 56-37 points after dominating 
the first half by 29-18 points. 

Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) Secretary General Jubaidur Rahman Rana 
was present as the chief guest in the ceremony and distributed the trophies 
to the winners'.

Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation (BKF) vice-president Abdullah Al Noman presided 
over the prize distribution ceremony while its general secretary SM Newaz 
Sohag and joint secretary Abdul Haque were also present.

Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, Jubaidur Rahman Rana praised the 
recent activities of the Kabaddi Federation and said: "The Kabaddi Federation 
is doing very well. In addition to successfully organizing the Women's World 
Cup, the girls have also achieved good results. We expect medals from Kabaddi 
in the upcoming Asian Games. These school tournaments will create the 
pipeline for the future."

BKF general secretary SM Newaz Sohag said they would keep continuation of the 
School Kabaddi Tournament as they have plans to pick up talented players from 
this meet to bring them under long-term training.
