Jamaat's Azharul collects nomination papers for Rangpur-2 constituency

RANGPUR, Dec 23, 2025 (BSS) – Local leaders of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami today collected nomination papers for the party's Nayeb-e-Ameer and nominated candidate ATM Azharul Islam for the Rangpur-2 (Badarganj-Taraganj) constituency.
 
Earlier, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami had nominated the party's Nayeb-e-Ameer ATM Azharul Islam as its Member of Parliament (MP) candidate to contest from Rangpur-2 constituency in the upcoming 13th Jatiya Sangsad election.
 
Taraganj Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer SM Alamgir Hossain collected the nomination papers from Taraganj Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Most Asmaul Husna at the office of the Assistant Returning Officer and Taraganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer.
 
Taraganj Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary Moulana Yakub Ali, Upazila unit President of the Ideal Teachers Federation Mohammad Zikrul Islam Zaherir, Upazila Youth Division President Mohammad Kazi Huda and Secretary Mohammad Aminul Islam were present at that time. 
 
On the occasion, Taraganj Upazila Jamaat Ameer SM Alamgir Hossain told reporters that focusing on this year's election, a wave of public opinion has already been created in favor of Jamaat nominated MP candidate ATM Azharul Islam in Rangpur-2 constituency. 
 
“We hope that if the election is held in a free, fair, transparent and peaceful manner, Jamaat-e-Islami nominated MP candidate ATM Azharul Islam will win a landslide victory in the Rangur-2 constituency, Insha'Allah,” he said.
