DHAKA, Jan 10, 2026 (BSS) - Chattogram Royals suffered a major setback in the
ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) after their in-form opener Adam
Rossington was ruled out of the tournament due to a finger injury.
The England recruit was instrumental in helping Chattogram top the points
table after seven matches. He had featured in six games, amassing 258 runs at
a remarkable average of 258, including three half-centuries.
"Adam Rossington sustained the injury during our last match against Rajshahi
Warriors when Binura Fernando's delivery struck the little finger of his left
hand," Chattogram team manager Nafis Iqbal said in a video message on
Thursday.
"It is the same finger where he had suffered an earlier injury. An X-ray
revealed a fracture, and he will need at least two weeks to recover. As a
result, he will return to England tomorrow," he added, pointing out that the
team management is actively looking for a replacement.
"He has been in superb form and has been key to our success this season.
Hopefully, we will be able to find a suitable replacement soon."
Chattogram Royals will play their next match on January 15 in Dhaka against
Noakhali Express in the return-leg fixture.
