DHAKA, Feb 3, 2026 (BSS) - Sirajganj U-17 district football team emerged as champions in the U-17 National Championship beating Joypurhat U-17 district football team by 2-1 goals in the Padma zone final held at Shaheed Shamsuddin Stadium in Sirajganj today (Tuesday).

Although the first half was tied at 1-1, Sirajganj U-17 district team secured the victory by playing aggressive football in the second half.

In the day’s final match, Shofiqul Islam and Limon scored one goal each for Sirajganj while Sourav Ali Mondal netted the lone goal for Joypurhat. 

Bangladesh Football Federation executive member and former national footballer Sayeed Hasan Kanon was the chief guest in the final and distributed the trophy.

Md Zakaria of Sirajganj was named the best player of the tournament for his impressive performance. 

Earlier, on way to the final, Sirajganj U-17 district football team beat Natore U-17 district football team by 2-0 goals in the first semifinal while Joypurhat U-17 district football team defeated Pabna U-17 district football team by 6-5 goals in penalty shootout in the second semis.
