DHAKA, June 24, 2026 (BSS)—Bangladesh spinner Nasum Ahmed made a significant leap in the latest ICC T20 International bowling rankings following his consistent performances against Australia, while batters Towhid Hridoy and Saif Hasan also registered notable gains despite the team's series defeat.

Bangladesh, who recently celebrated their first-ever ODI series victory over Australia, suffered a 3-0 whitewash in the subsequent T20I series. However, several players were rewarded individually in the International Cricket Council (ICC) updated rankings.

Left-arm spinner Nasum climbed 27 places to 11th in the T20I bowlers' rankings, equaling the second best position of his career after impressing throughout the three-match series, the ICC said in a press release today.

Hridoy, who led Bangladesh during the series, rose nine places to 30th in the T20I batting rankings after scoring 105 runs across three matches. Saif Hasan also enjoyed a strong rise, moving up 13 spots to joint 35th.

Australia's players benefited from the clean sweep as well. Captain Mitchell Marsh advanced four places to ninth in the T20I batting rankings, while fast bowler Nathan Ellis moved up three spots to seventh among bowlers.

Meanwhile, New Zealand pacer Matt Henry achieved a historic milestone in the ICC Test bowling rankings. The 34-year-old, who claimed 11 wickets in the Oval Test to help New Zealand level the series, climbed to the top of the rankings alongside India's Jasprit Bumrah on 870 rating points.

Henry became the first New Zealand bowler to reach No. 1 in the Test bowling rankings since Sir Richard Hadlee in 1990. Only Jack Cowie and Hadlee had previously achieved the feat for New Zealand.
