Bangladesh beat Uzbekistan for second straight win in AHF Cup

DHAKA, July 14, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh's junior women's hockey team continued their impressive run in the Women's Junior AHF Cup with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Uzbekistan in Muscat, Oman, on Monday night.

After a goalless first three quarters, Ema Nadira broke the deadlock in the 50th minute, scoring the decisive field goal to seal Bangladesh's second consecutive win in the tournament.

Bangladesh's Riyasa was named Player of the Match for her outstanding performance.

Bangladesh will play their next match against Pakistan on Thursday (July 16).

The team had earlier made a flying start to the tournament by defeating Hong Kong China 6-0 in their opening match.

The Women's Junior AHF Cup features Bangladesh, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Hong Kong China in a round-robin league format. 

The team finishing at the top of the standings at the end of the competition will be crowned champions.
