8 lakh tourists visit Cox's Bazar in 7 days

COX'S BAZAR, June 13, 2025 (BSS) - A flood of tourists from home and abroad came to Cox's Bazar for enjoying wonderful environment and weather during the long Eid vacation.
 
Laboni, Sugandha, and Kalatali points of the sea beach are bustling with tourists. The tourists spent every moment of the Eid holidays in joy and excitement here.

Businessmen have reported that at least 800,000 tourists visited the beach in the seven days from the Eid Day on Saturday to Tuesday.

The people concerned said that there would be a pressure of tourists during the 10-day Eid vacation until tomorrow (Saturday). 

Talking to BSS, a manager of a hotel said that all rooms of hotels, motels, resorts, guesthouses, and cottages in the city have already been booked in advance until June 13.

Nityananda Das, Assistant Superintendent of Police in Tourist Police Cox's Bazar Zone, said that three-tier security measures have been strengthened to make the tourists' visits enjoyable during the Eid holidays.

 In addition to monitoring from the watch tower, police are stationed at every checkpoint on the beach, he added. 

On one side, he said, a mobile team is patrolling the beach, while on the other side plainclothes police are patrolling the beach.
