Discussion on tourism and sustainable transformation held

DHAKA, Sept 28, 2025 (BSS) - A roundtable discussion titled ‘Tourism and Sustainable Transformation: Bangladesh's Perspective’ was held today at a city hotel marking the World Tourism Day. 

Tourism Alliance Society organized the roundtable discussion, said a press release here.

Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB) Chief Executive Officer Nuzhat Yasmin addressed the discussion as the chief guest while Bangladesh Tourism Corporation (BPC) Chairman Saima Shaheen Sultana addressed the discussion as special guest. HM Hakim Ali presided over the meeting.

The discussants emphasized the huge potential of Bangladesh's tourism sector, especially sustainable eco-tourism and the need for joint collaboration between government agencies, the private sector and local stakeholders. 

They also emphasized the importance of preserving natural and cultural heritage which will play an important role in attracting international tourists. 

General Secretary of the organization Rezaul Ekram informed about the objectives and vision of the Tourism Alliance Society and reiterated the commitment to work together with all stakeholders to develop sustainable tourism.
