BANDARBAN, Sept 30, 2025 (BSS) - Keokradong, a popular tourist destination in Ruma upazila of Bandarban, will be opened to tourists from October 1.

According to a public notice issued on Monday, signed by Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ara Rini, said that the decision was taken following the September 21 meeting of the District Law and Order Maintenance and Coordination Core Committee and in consultation with the Ruma Upazila administration and the Bandarban Region Cantonment.

The notice mentioned that tourists will only be allowed to visit officially reopened destinations like Keokradong, while travel to other areas of the upazila will remain restricted due to law and order concerns.

It also outlined several conditions for visitors such as tourists must be accompanied by a registered tour guide approved by the district or upazila administration.

Visitor information must be submitted at relevant check-posts or tourism service centers.

Any violation of these rules must be reported to authorities.

Unfit vehicles will not be allowed, and legal action will be taken against violators.

In the event of any untoward incident, tourism activities may be restricted again.
