WASHINGTON, April 4, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - Hiring in the United States accelerated unexpectedly in March even as unemployment edged up, government data showed Friday, amid uncertainty over President Donald Trump's economic policies.

The world's biggest economy added 228,000 jobs last month, much higher than analysts expected, while the jobless rate edged up to 4.2 percent, from 4.1 percent in February.
