12,700 tonnes of rice arrives at Ctg from Vietnam

DHAKA, April 7, 2025 (BSS) - A vessel named MV MD SEA carrying 12,700 tonnes of Sunned (Atap) rice from Vietnam under the G2G agreement (Package-1) has arrived at Chittagong Port.

Under the Government-to-Government (G2G) Agreement, a contract has been made for importing a total of 100,000 tonnes of Atap rice from Vietnam, said a press release here today.

In the meantime, 60,000 metric tons of rice have already arrived here as per the agreement.

Meanwhile, the sample testing of the rice kept on the ship has already been completed.

Necessary measures have been taken to start rice-unloading process within shortest possible time, it added.
