Ministry of Commerce pledge-bound to ensure investment-friendly environment: Sk Bashir Uddin

DHAKA, April 9, 2025 (BSS) - Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin today said that 
the Ministry of Commerce is pledge-bound to ensure trade and investment-
friendly environment in the country.

The Commerce Adviser said this while addressing at a dialogue held at Hotel 
Intercontinental in the capital this afternoon.

The World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA), WTO Enhanced 
Integrated Framework (EIF), Bangladesh Investment Development Authority 
(BIDA) and FBCCI jointly organized the dialogue titled "Navigating Global 
Markets-Bangladesh's Trade and Investment Strategies in the Post LDC Era".

FBCCI Administrator Md Hafizur Rahman moderated the event, said an FBCCI 
press release.

The Commerce Adviser said that they have taken effective steps to ensure 
sustainable investment, trade and inclusive economy. "In this regard, the 
issues of infusing dynamism in regulatory framework, expanding 
infrastructures and export diversification are being prioritized."

Taking part as a panel discussant, CPD executive director Dr Fahmida Khatun 
put emphasis on human resources development, ensuring compliance in 
industries, long-term policy structures and ensuring political stability to 
boost FDI.

Commerce Ministry Additional Secretary and WTO Wing Chief Dr Naznin Kawser 
Chowdhury, BTMA President Shawkat Aziz Russell, Japan-Bangladesh Chamber 
President Tareque Rafi Bhuiyan, FBCCI Secretary General Md Alamgir and other 
business leaders were present, among others, on the occasion.
