DHAKA, Oct 7, 2025 (BSS) - Japan's Sumitomo Corporation Asia and Oceania
Private Limited has invited applications from the students of Dhaka
University (DU) for its scholarships.

The organisation plans to grant scholarships to 10 regular students of the
university, according to a press release issued here today.

The scholarship is specifically open to regular students enrolled in the
first year of the Undergraduate programme during the 2022-2023 academic
session.

Applicants must have successfully passed the Higher Secondary or equivalent
examination in 2022. A key academic requirement is that applicants must have
achieved a minimum GPA of 4.80 in both the SSC and HSC examinations,
excluding the fourth subject.

Application forms can be obtained from the education-5 branch of the
registrar's office or downloaded from the notice published on the Dhaka
University website.

Completed application forms must be filled out properly and submitted to the
education-5 branch of the registrar's office by October 20.

The application requires the signature and seal of the respective
departmental chairman or institute director and the hall provost.

Applicants must attach several supporting documents, including two copies of
colour photographs, mark sheets for both SSC and HSC, certificates,
guardian's income certificate and a departmental attestation letter.

The scholarship is renewable for the subsequent three years. This renewal is
contingent upon the student maintaining good conduct, demonstrating
satisfactory progress in their studies, and ensuring regular attendance.
