WASHINGTON, April 12, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - The World Bank announced a $12 billion support package for Argentina on Friday, including $1.5 billion to be disbursed immediately to bolster the country's economic reform program.

The move, which comes in addition to a new $20 billion bailout announced by the IMF, signalled "a strong vote of confidence in the government's efforts to stabilize and modernize the economy," the World Bank said in a statement, adding that the program was designed to help "continue to attract private investment" and further boost job-creation measures.
